About Simon Jacobs
My aim is to help you gain a greater understanding of yourself in a confidential, non-judgemental and safe environment. I avoid using jargon and incorporate a variety of techniques and theories drawing from different approaches to increase your awareness of behaviours and beliefs which might be preventing you from leading a satisfying and rewarding life. Above all, I believe that lasting change is achieved through a supportive, open and trusting relationship between therapist and client. In addition to my experience and theoretical understanding, this is what I offer clients who come to see me with a wide range of issues and expectations.
I have experience in the following areas:
DEPRESSION: Panic attacks, anxiety, low self-esteem, mood swings, self-destructive behaviour
ANGER MANAGEMENT: Rage, violent behaviour, general anger issues
LOSS & TRAUMA: Bereavement, redundancy, historical or recent abuse (sexual/physical/bullying)
ADDICTIONS: Alcohol/substance misuse, internet pornography/general sex addiction, gambling
WORK/CAREER: Stress & burn-out, communication problems, unfulfilled potential
RELATIONSHIPS: Loneliness, sexual concerns, problems with jealousy, relationship breakdown
EXISTENTIAL CRISIS: Loss or lack of meaning in life, mid-life crisis, lack of motivation
OTHER ISSUES: Eating disorders, OCD, confusion, paranoia
The first step to finding out wether psychotherapy/counselling might be beneficial is to arrange a free initial consultation during which we would discuss the possibility of working together and how I might be able to help you. Your call and any communication between us will be treated confidentially.
