Rafael Morales T. started to professionally work as a psychotherapist & hypnotherapist in 1996 at his private practice –The Integral & Transpersonal Psychotherapy & Coaching Center (Intrapsyc.com)- after having started his personal journey through studies in traditional, transpersonal and integral approaches of psychology, philosophy and education by 1990.
He has professional training & degrees in psychology and hypnotherapy -BS-MS-MA-, he has worked as a certified psychotherapist since 1996 in South America, as a MFT (marriage and family therapist) and certified hypnotherapist in California, and as a mental health therapist in Arizona and Nevada since December of 2001. His most recent degree is a MA in Integral-Transpersonal psychology from John F. Kennedy University.
He founded the Selective Mutism Institute – SMI- (www.mutismoselectivo.com & http://mutismoseletivo.org) after multiple requests from families and professionals receiving counseling support for their children, students and clients presenting this condition. Considering his personal experience and the lack of basic information, awareness, understanding and support around the world on this condition, the institute initiated its activities in 2009 and keeps developing its online presence currently focused on Spanish and Portuguese speaking populations.
Rafael’s extensive experience in the psychology, counseling, case management and education fields, having been lecturing on several topics around philosophy, psychology, education and self-development; providing clinical and counseling support at different inpatient and outpatient clinics, schools, NGOs and businesses, has allowed him to improve his abilities to perform competently and in an ethical way, being culturally sensitive and integral in his approach whenever supporting people or organizations. He has worked in the United States, Europe and South America with very culturally diverse and multilingual populations, face to face, by phone and online.
We use to have hard times whenever we are faced by difficulties that challenge our ego. Most of the time, we tend to avoid facing these challenges or we do deal with them in destructive ways, mainly because of not having learned more assertive functional ways to take care of ourselves, relationships and circumstances in life.
My approach is focused on promoting your insight about why you think, feel and react the way you do, to support you to take advantage of your own skills and potential and to guide you on taking care of your emotional needs and wounds that are not allowing you to mindfully and gently take good care of your life and your relationships with others.
I do take into account exploring and working on the issues affecting your mood and functioning, and facilitating the learning of personal tools that would allow you to ventilate, understand and process feelings, as well as to promote concrete changes in your life.
You could expect to receive sincere, ethical, assertive and emphatic support even in those moments when denial and avoidance are your worst enemies. I will challenge your ego and promote the awakening and nurturing of your real self.
If you are serious about you self-development or your need to cope with and learn from depression, anxiety or any stressor from your daily relationships, I would like to offer my support to work with you on this challenging and fulfilling endeavor.
