WHAT I OFFER YOU
I am a holistic psychotherapist, specialising in Relationship Counselling and Psychosexual Therapy for couples and individuals.
I offer online sessions using webcam/skype. Phone sessions are possible also. I am happy to talk with you for an introductory conversation (free of charge) for approx 15 mins.
I have over 15 years experience in helping couples at all ages and stages of relationships. As well as couples counselling, I work with individuals who have relationship and intimacy issues.
My Relationship Support Practice provides a safe environment in which you will be listened to with empathy and warmth. I approach the delicate issues of relating, intimacy and sexuality with sensitivity, holding them in integrity and safety.
Relationship Counselling offers a variety of therapeutic tools; generally a mix of practical and emotional approaches, all within a client-centred, holistic context.
Psychosexual Therapy in particular focuses specifically on sexual difficulties, always in the context of your relationship, emotional needs and wider issues. It is consistently respectful of your boundaries.
THE HELP YOU NEED
Maybe you are having relationship difficulties, especially in the areas of sex and intimacy. Perhaps one or both of you is disappointed with your intimate life, or you are having a physical sexual difficulty. Maybe you long for more connection. Perhaps your expectations about intimacy are very different from one another and it's not easy to talk about this together. Or sex is not going well because of an earlier abusive experience or a past affair.
While many things do go well in relationships, you can become very stuck at times and communication and feelings suffer. This is when support and guidance may be needed.
You may feel hesitant to talk about these personal issues, but often it can be a relief to share and take a look at the concerns.
HOW I WORK WITH YOU
My work is about supporting you, as couples or individuals, to look realistically at the patterns that are in the way of good communication and loving connection. With help, you become able to make the changes that bring you more clarity as well as closeness and fulfillment.
My approach draws both from my Psychotherapy background and also from a more experiential, practical here and now framework. I am down to earth about relating issues, enabling clients to feel safe and accepted. I often give clients exercises to practise at home. In the counselling sessions we look at the issues that have surfaced from these exercises and this enables change to take place.
In a first session, after an assessment of your needs and situation, we will decide together if Relationship Counselling and/or Psychosexual Therapy is best for you, either individually or as a couple. If a different approach seems more appropriate, I will be able to refer you on to a known colleague.
Sometimes few sessions are needed; other times clients take more time to deal with the complexities of close relationships.
We have found Priya to be very caring and respectful of boundaries, yet appropriately encouraging by challenging fears and helping both partners express themselves without either one feeling that you favour the other or feel the other has a greater "problem". Patsy and Duncan.

Both men and women want to feel more comfortable with their bodies and their sexuality.
MY TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
I am a holistic psychotherapist and a member of the British Association for Sexual and Relationship Therapy (BASRT).
After working for years as a social worker, I completed my training as a psychotherapist at the Chiron Centre for Holistic Psychotherapy. Seeing how many clients struggled with issues of intimacy in relationships, I expanded my skills by joining the US-based Human Awareness Institute (HAI), a pioneer in working with intimacy and sexuality issues.
As well as my private practice sessions, I have led many workshops and courses for couples addressing varied aspects of relationships from communication skills to creating more loving intimacy. I currently offer a small regular couples weekend course.
I truly enjoy helping people discover the depth and joy of loving connection.
Sessions generally take place weekly and are an hour in length. I see people here in my practice in Barnet North London, on the telephone or online.
After our initial session, I generally suggest we book a course of four sessions and then reassess your needs from there.
Confidentiality is a vital aspect of this work and all content of sessions will be strictly confidential between us, in accordance with the BASRT Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. No sexual activity or undressing takes place in the therapy room.
I also offer contact via SKYPE and my Initial Consultation is FREE for up to 15minutes.
