I firmly believe therapy should be an enjoyable and pleasant growing experience. After all, you’re here to make yourself happier! Like all my fellow professionals I use techniques to help you along the way but just as important ensuring you are relaxed and at ease.
With so much more understanding of the mind over recent years change really is possible. I aim to combine modern techniques to help my clients create lasting change.
Unfortunately, from our early childhood we are constantly beset by problems and difficult emotional situations which lead us to develop coping strategies. Whilst these are necessary at the time they often lead us into difficulties later in life. An example of this might be of a child whose early experience of school was with an overpowering teacher. When the child becomes an adult they may be afraid not only of teachers but of authority figures in general. This is how the subconscious works. It protects us from harm but not very subtly.
Different problems require different approaches. Hypnotherapy may be very useful for some but not other conditions. Equally, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) has profound benefits for certain emotional problems and goal achievement. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has many uses and really comes into it’s own when dealing with Depression, IBS, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD) and Eating Disorders.
