I help people overcome emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties such as depression, anxiety, personality problems, addictions and family & relationship difficulties.
My goal is to help you become 'your own best therapist.'
I work with a team of highly skilled tand qualified therapists, each specialising in particular areas.
I have been involved in teaching cognitive behaviour therapy to new therapists for the last 25 years. I am accredited as a cognitive behaviour therapist by the British Association for Behavioural and cognitive Psychotherapies.
Who can benefit from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is the treatment of choice for many mental health problems. Our clients are people like you! They are trying to make the best of their life, but discover that circumstances and/or personality issues form roadblocks to becoming their best self.
We use modern and scientific psychological approaches to assess our clients problems. Some people seek professional help because they have been told by a doctor or a counsellor that they have a mental health problem ("You are depressed"). On the other hand, you may just have been feeling not quite right. You know something is wrong, but you can’t pinpoint it. In both cases CBT will be able to help.
If you are interested in a more detailed description, please go to the CBT-Partnership website: www.cbt-partnership.org. You may find of particular interest the cartoon book: ZEE BEATTY AND THE SOCKS OF DOOM, this explains very clearly the in's and out's of CBT.
