Hi everybody, I have created this thread as a place where you can post a short introduction about yourself and what your challenges are. Remember: everybody else is here because they have a challenge that they want help with or want to discuss. There's nothing wrong with that... I can start out introducing myself: My name is Kasper and I'm part of the GoMentor team. Oh and by the way - I have claustrophobia, but I'm trying to get rid of it as it can be a big problem from time to time. - Kasper

Hi I'm Sue, I am qualified nurse, I worked as a regional sales manager and training coach in the pharmaceutical industry for over 20 years, and was a volunteer counsellor, and social network organiser in my spare time for an introduction agency for over 10 years. I qualified as a hypnotherapist about 5 years ago, and went on to study advanced studies in stress, CBH, TFT, NLP etc. I joined Mind International Training Associates this year, and qualified in Conversational Decoding. I am passionate about helping people through stress, anxiety and work related stress in particular, and helping with goal setting. I am also qualified to measure motivation patterns using psychometric tests, which helps employers with recruitment, team building, and reducing work related stress. This also helps on a one-to-one basis for people wanting to know what their true motivators are in the work place, or as a self employed person. (Motivation measured not competencies!) I love all aspects of hypnotherapy and coaching.

Hello to all, First of all what a great idea this is..... once i had a look around I find my self at ease. It is great to see the amount of professionals on here and i have already contacted a few. My issue is combining my worklife with the family life. I love my wife and two girls and i have a fantastic job, that takes up a lot of time. How do you make them all happy - and here i mean both bosses, the one at work and the one at home :-) Can´t wait to try a session. -Petersen

Hi everyone. I'm Hayley, I'm a coach and therapist here. I also run my own site and work locally with several holistic therapies and handmade candles. I'm a bit of a work-a-holic(!) and am (hopefully) looking to take a year out in Australia in 2012 Jesper - with effective time management. Not as easy as it sounds I know! It's a technique I teach as a part of my life coaching sessions for those who need it. - Hayley edited by Hayley Daniels-Lake on 11/5/2010

Well I think I have finally figured out how to register myself on this site. Being an American (and even worse a Californian to boot) I have a bit of trepidation about doing therapy with people on another continent. It does allow me some advantages like the time difference allows me to have hours when you are home. Aside from that I have spent a good deal of time in England and France. I have had a private practice for 24 years. I have watched a whole generation grow up and have kids. It got so bad in my small town of Napa, California that I cant go anywhere without meeting a former client. I had to move to the foothills of Yosemite where I live overlooking a big lake and surrounded by forests. I still wanted to do therapy after I got tired of working in a state prison (it was the guards not the prisoners that I had a hard time with.) Well that all for now. If anyone wants to hear how we do things differently in the Gold Country fire away an email.

Hello everyone, I live and work in central London and I am making the transition from being an employee to running my own business as a coach. My business start up 'to do list' is very long! In fact it gets longer every day - not shorter as I would have thought! I often receive coaching - once a week - and it's really amazing how it's helped me - I often get into a fuzzy state where I feel inundated by the amount of things I need to do. My coach gets me to be focused and organise everything into clarity - to the point where I feel a weight has been lifted and my next action steps are nice and clear. I practise coaching because I know 100% the incredible benefits - and it's so quick - I don't have to spend weeks churning over unanswerable questions, pondering the workings of the universe! Anyway, that is why I am a coach. It's one of the most satisfying feelings to know you've helped bring a little clarity, and positive results into someone's life.

Hi Kevin, You sound very experienced. Also sounds like you have a beautiful place there. I'm in UK North East near Durham City. I have just joined Toast Masters aswell as GoMentor, to improve my public speaking to promote myself more, as I want to start training on work related stress, which is my area I am most passionate about. Started up in business again, with a more corporate head on in March this year. But I need a lot of flexibility as Mum and Dad are very ill right now. I have been a therapist since 2006, but was a nurse and training coach in the pharmaceutical industry too. I currently see alot of one to one for things like:- Smoking cessation, weight management, confidence issues, phobias, need to focus, anxiety states, etc. I think the initial contact with clients is the most important part, and never fail to be amazed at how people will pour out their whole problem in the first few minutes, before I've learned their name, or before they have even checked out my qualifications and experience! That is why I often ask clients early on "and what is it you want from me" or "What is it you think I can do for you" Then endeavour to deliver what they want! I love working with the power of belief. Hope we can chat here or on skype sometime. Hello everyone I love things that work well, hence I really enjoy coaching and hypnotherapy. So simple, yet so effective. It's great when clients have a breakthrough and suddenly see what they need to do, or gain the strength and motivation to do what they have always wanted to do. My biggest challenge is living in three different places - UK, Southern Spain and soon LA too, so online coaching works very well for me. I just need to really get up to speed with local ways of doing things. It's exciting to be part of something new - GoMentor is such a good concept as I've always found coaching through skype to be very effective. Both coach and coachee can be comfortable in their own environment and there are not the usual transportation problems!
