About Diane Lillis
"If you do things the way you always do, you will get what you always got" If you want something different, make a change, pick up the phone and call me for a confidential chat.
My qualifications include Diploma in Integrative Counselling, Person Centred Counselling, Time Limited Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Adult Education 7407.
I am a member of BACP and work within their ethical framework which creates a confidential and safe place to share inner secrets that have been hindering living life to the full.
I have an Integrative approach to counselling and offer both short and long term counselling. I draw on a number of therapeutic models according to your needs.
The core counselling model underpinning all my work is called Person Centred. This means I always treat my clients with empathy, understanding, acceptance, authenticity, and listen carefully to what they say.
I am neither directive nor judgmental but I can certainly be challenging.
I use different interventions like; shells and stones, metaphors, guided imagery, teddy love, intuitive cards, trying to find a way to help people move on or explore their difficulties in a way that suits them best.
What is Counselling, Therapy?
Counselling/therapy is used by many people to look at difficulties in their lives.
I provide a confidential space in which you can receive help to resolve issues. Through empathic listening and discussion process, it is possible to gain awareness of self and others, which can enable more informed decisions or changes in behaviour and create a life with more clarity.
This may be achieved through exploring your hopes, fears, beliefs and gaining awareness about the relationships you have with yourself and others. Counselling can create a window through which you may see new choices, other ways of approaching past or present problems and behaviours, and make changes – If you do things the way you always did, you will get what you always got, if you want something different, make a change.

I have so far had four sessions with Diane over the telephone. To date I have found these sessions very helpful. Diane has helped me a great deal with my anxiety issues. She has enabled me to look at my stressful situations and teach me how to respond to these effectively. Before my sessions all I was doing was feeding my anxiety and making everything worse. Thanks to help from Diane I am now responding to my issues in a more positive way. Counselling from Diane has definately improved things for me and my general wellbeing. Would highly recommend.
I feel more positive now about my future due to understanding and learning how to deal with my problems.
Your an amazing therapist and its inspiring what you do to help people. Thank you.
I have worked with Diane at One 2 One counseling on a face to face basis to deal with self esteem and confidence issues, which had lead to depression, and social anxiety. Working with Diane has definitely helped me to see things from a different perspective, question my beliefs and where they had come from, and form new behaviors. Before working with Diane I would lack confidence, and then get annoyed with myself for lacking confidence, which would then make me feel depressed, and this would lead in to a downward spiral. I had tried a lot of self-help books, programs and cds searching for that ‘magic bullet’, which would suddenly make everything right. However, since working with Diane I am much happier, contented and now realise that I have to take responsibility for myself. If ever an issue occurs now where I am not confident I acknowledge it, deal with it, and do not let myself dwell on it. Diane has been of great help and I would highly recommend working with her.
