There are several types of psychologists, but most of them aim to treat people in crisis.

A clinical psychologist typically works in a rehabilitation facility with people in crisis. Psychologist is a protected title, which usually requires doctoral degree. This degree necessitates about 5 years of full-time graduate study, including practical work. School psychologists have a specialist degree, which generally consist of three years of full-time study. Some psychologists complete a master’s degree, which is useable for working with individual plans for a career. The master’s programs are two years long. It is required that psychologists obtain a license in order to practice.
